Investing

Using money to buy something you hope will be worth more later.

Three ways to explain it

Hatchlings · Ages 5–6

Swapping your money for a tiny piece of something, and hoping it grows.

Fledglings · Ages 7–8

Buying something, often a small piece of a company, because you think it might be worth more one day. It might be worth less, too.

High Flyers · Ages 9–10

Putting money into something whose value can rise or fall. Unlike a savings account, nothing is guaranteed — which is the whole trade-off.
